The imperials kill many pugilists before arriving at Wu village, which houses rebels from the anti-Qing secret organisation Red Spears Society. Two villagers, Han Zhibang and Wu Yuanying, follow Fu Qingzhu to Mount Heaven to seek help from the reclusive swordsmith Shadow-Glow. Shadow-Glow allows his four students (Chu Zhaonan, Yang Yuncong, Xin Longzi and Mulang) to follow the trio on their heroic quest to save the Wulin from persecution.
