Leaving her unhappy life in Tokyo, she takes part in the Shikoku Pilgrimage as a lone walking pilgrim. It has been said that if a pilgrim completes the pilgrimage by visiting all 88 sacred places, his/her wish will be fulfilled. Four weeks into her supposedly "soul-searching" journey, Misa is in Matsuyama, Ehime Prefecture, still unsure about herself and what she wishes for, and even becomes a victim of a thief, taking what little money she has left. Soldiering on, she stops by a free inn for pilgrims, run by Kimura-san (Ishida Ayumi), a kindly old lady. There, she encounters other male pilgrims: Gotō (Inoue Jun) and Nakamura (Nagayama Kento). Misa, who has been lied too often by people she trusted in the past, learns that even pilgrims lie to other people.
